Nick Foles will get a chance to square off with Frank Reich on Sunday as the Chicago Bears take on the Indianapolis Colts. While getting a chance to play against Reich, Foles credits the Colts head coach for putting him a position to succeed in his career.

“He was the one who really figured me out as a player and realized that we had it all wrong,” Foles said, via the Chicago Tribune. “They just threw some plays out there one day and said: ‘Just go play these plays. We studied you and these are the plays you do.’ And sure enough, something triggered inside of me.”

After spending the first three seasons of his career with the Philadelphia Eagles, Foles had one-year stints with the St. Louis Rams and the Kansas City Chiefs from 2015-2016. However, he would find himself back in Philadelphia in 2017 with a chance to create history.

When Foles arrived back with the Eagles, Reich was the offensive coordinator of the team from 2016-2017. Of course, due to an injury to Carson Wentz, Foles would start for Philadelphia in the postseason, leading the franchise to its first Super Bowl win in history.

Foles would win Super Bowl MVP as he threw for 373 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception versus the New England Patriots. Fast forward to now and Foles is now replacing Mitchell Trubisky as the starting quarterback of the Bears, hoping to help them make some noise in the postseason.

There's no doubt that Foles has had plenty of ups and downs throughout his career. Even though Foles will look to defeat Reich on Sunday, the veteran quarterback is thankful for Reich's contributions to helping him become a better quarterback.
