The Matt Nagy era may finally be coming to an end in Chicago. In what comes as no surprise to many, the Bears are reportedly looking to move on from their head coach.

According to the latest report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport, it's curtains for Matt Nagy and and his 4-year tenure as the coach of the Bears with a firing expected by the end of the season.

With two games to go, the Bears have made no public disclosures of their plans for coach Matt Nagy. But privately, they seem to know which direction they're headed.

According to multiple sources, Chicago appears primed to have a new head coach for the 2022 season and is expected to begin its search for Nagy's successor after Week 18.

Reports also state that while the situation has hovered over the Bears' season thus far, Matt Nagy has reportedly been able to compartmentalize his future with the day-to-day operations.

Things looked bright for Matt Nagy during his first season with the club back in 2018 as he led the Bears to a 12-4 record, their best since 2006. However, things only went down from there as his teams have failed to finish above .500 in the three seasons that followed.

Nagy holds a 33-30 record in his four seasons in Chicago heading into the Bears' Week 17 matchup against the New York Giants. They've made the playoffs twice under his tutelage, losing both times in the wild card round.
