Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green did not practice on Wednesday, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Green is expected to make his 2019 debut this Sunday when the Bengals take on the Baltimore Ravens.

Green has been sidelined since training camp due to an ankle injury.

This marks the second straight season that the 31-year-old has been out for an extended period of time, as he played in just nine games last year due to a toe issue.

Many suggested that Cincinnati should trade Green at the Week 8 deadline, as he is in the final year of his contract, but the Bengals ended up holding on to their No. 1 wide out.

Green, who played his collegiate football at the University of Georgia, was originally selected by Cincinnati with the fourth overall pick of the 2011 NFL Draft.

He immediately stamped his name among the best receivers in football during his rookie campaign, catching 65 passes for 1,057 yards and seven touchdowns en route to a Pro Bowl appearance.

That began a stretch of seven straight Pro Bowl selections to begin his career, with his best season coming in 2013 when he hauled in 98 receptions for 1,426 yards and 11 scores.

Green also logged five straight 1,000-yard campaigns upon entering the league, a streak that was interrupted in 2016 when Green was limited to just 10 games due to injury. He finished with 964 yards that year.

The Bengals are in the midst of a dreadful 2019 season, as they have gone an NFL-worst 0-8 thus far. With the Miami Dolphins topping the New York Jets last weekend, Cincinnati is now the only winless team in the league.
