The Cincinnati Bengals have joined in on what has been an action-packed Day 1 of free agency. The Bengals have reportedly agreed to a deal with pass-rusher Trey Hendrickson on a $62 million deal for the next four years.

This report comes via NFL insider Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network:

That's a lot of money and Cincinnati has dug deep into their pockets to get their man. Hendrickson, who had a breakout year with the New Orleans Saints last season, drew the interest of several other teams. The New York Jets, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Cleveland Browns were all linked to a swoop for the free agent, so the Bengals had to act fast to bring Hendrickson to Cincinnati.

The Bengals did not waste any time in replacing Carl Lawson, who himself has signed with the New York Jets on a three-year deal worth $45 million. Lawson was a key cog for the Bengals last season and his services will be missed, but it goes without saying that Hendrickson is a very able replacement. The 26-year-old may not be at Lawson's level (just yet), but he should be able to fill the void for the Bengals.

Lawson and Hendrickson aren't the only pass-rushers that have agreed to lucrative new deals on Monday. The Las Vegas Raiders also splashed the cash on Yannick Ngakoue on a two-year deal worth $26 million. Bud Dupree has also reportedly agreed to terms with the Tennessee Titans on a two-year,$33 million deal.

A whole lot of money was spent on Day 1 of free agency.
