Cincinnati Bengals rookie wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase had a big issue with drops in the preseason, and he made headlines by talking about the difference between NFL footballs and NCAA footballs. Well, Chase shut some critics up real fast in Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings.

This was a beautiful pitch and catch between the former LSU teammates, and it's great to see Chase eliminate some of those drop demons with a big play in his first official NFL game.

The fifth pick from 2021 and his quarterback, who was the first pick in 2020, will look to turn around the Bengals' fortunes this season. This franchise last had a winning record in the 2015 season. Over the last five seasons, the best tally at the end of the year was in 2017, when they had seven wins, and they went a combined 6-25 over the last two seasons.

Should the LSU connection work out many times like in this first game, the Bengals faithful have something to look ahead to this season.
