Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow played down the injury he sustained early in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl 56.

Burrow, who was clearly in pain emotionally after the heartbreaking loss to the Los Angeles Rams, simply said that his right knee is “good” despite initial concerns of a significant injury. Of course the Bengals QB was able to return to the game after briefly leaving the field, so it is safe to assume it's not a long-term issue that fans should worry about.

However, the fact that Burrow was sacked multiple times in the contest–seven to be exact–has to raise alarms on his condition.

Joe Burrow gave it his all for the Bengals, and while they ended up losing, he should definitely be proud of what he has done for the team. The fact that he has time and time again get up after being sacked also speaks volume on his tenacity and desire to win at all costs.

The Bengals signal-caller was sacked 19 times throughout the postseason, bringing his total sacks to 70 for the whole 2021 campaign. With that lack of protection, it is already amazing he was able to last long and lead his team to the Super Bowl against the Rams–even getting close to winning it all.

Hopefully, the Bengals bring more offensive line help for Burrow to allow him unleash his full potential and, possibly, get over that Super Bowl hump.
