The Cincinnati Bengals are not very good, and on Monday night, they hit rock bottom.

In a battle of two 0-3 teams, the Bengals were routed by the Pittsburgh Steelers by a score of 27-3, dropping them to 0-4 on the season, and afterward, first-year head coach Zac Taylor expressed his frustration.

“We’re the 0-4 2019 Cincinnati Bengals,” said Taylor, according to Brandon Saho of WLWT. ”I can’t stand up here and keep making excuses. We just have to get it done.”

It marked the second time Cincinnati was blown out this season, as it was also hammered 41-17 by the San Francisco 49ers back in Week 2.

To be fair to the Bengals, they are missing their best offensive player in wide receiver A.J. Green, who has been sidelined with an ankle injury, but Cincinnati's issues clearly go much deeper than just Green.

This is a team that has missed the playoffs each of the last three seasons, and with holes up and down the roster, it's hard to imagine one player solving the problem.

The Bengals rank 27th in the NFL in total offense and are averaging just 14.3 points per game, which ranks 30th. They have also been porous defensively, as they rank 24th in yards allowed and 28th in scoring defense.

Basically, it has been bad all around in Cincinnati, and it is hardly the fault of Taylor, who entered a situation that wasn't very promising from the start.

The Bengals will now head home to host the Arizona Cardinals in another battle of winless ballclubs next Sunday.
