The second-seeded Iowa Hawkeyes became the latest Big Ten team to see an early exit in the NCAA Tournament, as they fell to the seventh-seeded Oregon Ducks on Monday, 95-80.

Chris Duarte led four Ducks in double figures with 23 points, three rebounds, seven assists, and two steals while making 9-of-12 shots from the field. Oregon also got 21 points, seven rebounds, and two steals from LJ Figueroa, who made 8-of-14 shots from the floor. Starters Will Richardson and Eugene Omoruyi, meanwhile, added 19 and 17 points, respectively.

Oregon shot a scorching 55.9% from the field while holding Iowa to 45.6% shooting. The Ducks by ten at the half, 56-46, and stretched that lead to as much as 21 in the second half on their way to the victory.

After a strong regular season that saw the conference receive five of the top-16 seeds in the tournament, the Big Ten just has two squads left in 10th-seeded Maryland and top-seeded Michigan. These teams will try to stay alive later on Monday.

Among the Big Ten squads that have already been eliminated from the tournament include conference tournament champion and top-seeded Illinois (fell to eighth-seeded Loyola-Chicago) and No. 2 seed Ohio State (stunned by 15th-seeded Oral Roberts in the first round). Other Big Ten teams suffering an early exit in March Madness include Purdue (4), Wisconsin (9), Rutgers (10), and Michigan State (11), with Iowa now joining them.
