The Buffalo Bills made a splash in the 2018 NFL Draft when they moved up to select former Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen with the seventh overall pick. It appears as though Allen has already begun to feel the excitement of playing for this franchise.

The Bills have a rich history of producing some of the most notable players in NFL history. Among them is quarterback Jim Kelly, whom Allen got to meet at practice.

According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, was admittedly shaking when he met Kelly:

“I’m shaking right now. This is the greatest quarterback in Bills history.”

Needless to say, there is plenty of truth to Allen's comments. Kelly was drafted by Buffalo with the 14th overall pick in the 1983 NFL Draft, however, he chose to play in the USFL coming out of Miami instead. Following a successful stint, he took his talents over to the NFL and never looked back.

He led the Bills to four straight Super Bowl appearances in the 1990's. Although he was never able to seal the deal, Kelly would still retire as one of the best quarterbacks of his generation. He also finished with virtually every passing record in franchise history before becoming a first-ballot Hall of Famer.

That said, Allen is hoping to mirror the same success Kelly enjoyed during his time in Buffalo. Although it is still far too soon to tell, the Bills are optimistic they found their next franchise quarterback.
