The Buffalo Bills are far from even resembling a Super Bowl contender at the moment, but that doesn't mean head coach Sean McDermott is going to avoid trying to instill championship ideals in his players.

McDermott, who is entering his third season as Bills head coach, says that while Buffalo may not be ready to win just yet, the organization has a vision and is building toward achieving that:

“I’m excited about the progress we have made this offseason as we worked to execute our plan of building a strong foundation,” McDermott wrote in his letter to Bills season-ticket holders, via The Buffalo News. “This foundation combined with true Buffalo toughness and love for one another will be instrumental as we continue to chase our vision of bringing a championship to this city. We are committed to building a team that you can be proud of both on and off the field for many years to come.”

McDermott's tenure in Buffalo got off to a great start in 2017, as he led the team to nine wins and its first playoff appearance since the 1999-00 campaign, ending the longest postseason drought in the NFL at the time and sending the city into a frenzy.

However, this past year, the Bills took a big step back, winning just six games.

With a second-year quarterback in Josh Allen at the helm and a lot of holes to fill on the rest of the roster, Buffalo still has a long way to go, but perhaps McDermott is the guy to bring the franchise back to prominence.
