Damian Lillard's future with the Portland Trail Blazers has been in limbo since another failed bid in the 2021 playoffs. His cryptic posts on Instagram certainly didn't help, even though he has repeatedly said there is no truth to the rumors he's going to demand a trade.

For his Blazers teammate and longtime backcourt partner CJ McCollum, though, he has no doubt about Lillard's commitment to the team. The 29-year-old guard also shared that Dame just wants to win, which is probably why there have been a lot of unfounded talks about his possible departure to join a contender.

“I don't want to speak for him, but having a close relationship with him … I have a pretty good sense of where he's at. His goal is to win a championship. But … he's all-in. At this stage, I can say he's all-in. He just wants to win,” McCollum said in the Woj Pod, per Sean Highkin of Bleacher Report.

Damian Lillard is as loyal as they come, so reports of him wanting to be traded was really surprising to fans and experts alike. However, he has also made his frustrations clear, sharing previously that he doesn't think they have a championship roster. It certainly didn't strengthen the case of the Blazers that they didn't really make significant roster changes in free agency.

“I don’t disagree that maybe Chauncey can change our team and make us a better team. But I think if you look at our team as it is, I don’t see how you say ‘this is a championship team, we just need a new coach,” Lillard said.”

As CJ McCollum hinted, it looks like Dame's desire to stay in Portland and play with the Blazers remain. Nonetheless, it's up to the team to give Lillard a convincing reason why he should not think otherwise.
