Portland Trail Blazers All-Star Damian Lillard will sit out Sunday's scrimmage against the Toronto Raptors due to left foot inflammation.

Rachel Nichols of ESPN reported that the X-ray on Lillard's foot came back negative, but he will sit down for at least a day or two as the Blazers hope to have him healthy for the seeding games.

It would be safe to say Portland would have a hard time making the playoffs without Damian Lillard in the rotation.

Dame has essentially been the be-all and end-all for the Trail Blazers this year. Prior to the NBA hiatus, the former Rookie of the Year was averaging 28.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 7.8 assists per game while shooting nearly 40 percent from beyond the arc on 9.9 attempts per game. Lillard also leads the NBA in minutes per game.

Portland is simply lost when Lillard is not on the floor. The Blazers have a 115.5 offensive rating when Lillard plays, as opposed to a 107.8 rating when he sits. Not only is Lillard efficient with good volume, but he also works well in the pick-and-roll and becomes a lethal playmaker when he gets into the paint.

The Blazers are currently in the No. 9 spot in the Western Conference, and they are 3.5 games back of the eighth-seeded Memphis Grizzles. While Portland gets a boost from the returns of front-court players Zach Collins and Jusuf Nurkic, it needs Lillard to be in top-top shape for the playoff chase.

“Dame Time” might still be coming to television screens near you, just not on Sunday evening in Orlando.
