Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard is lethal from anywhere on the court and must be defended at all times. The Dallas Mavericks seemed to have forgotten that on Thursday. The Mavericks allowed the four-time All-Star to heat up from way beyond the arc.

With the home team down by 20 points with under seven minutes left in the period, Lillard turned on “Dame Time” mode. The All-Star guard drilled an absurdly deep three-pointer after using a screen. He stopped on a dime a couple of possessions later, drilling an even father trey over the defense of Mavs' superstar Luka Doncic to trim the lead to 14.

Lillard had one more in him at the midway part of third. He negated the long arms of Justin Anderson by hitting another deep bomb from the left wing.

Portland outscored Dallas 27-25 in the third and got themselves back in the ball game. Damian Lillard has been averaging 27.9 points on 44.6 percent shooting from the field and 36.8 percent from three. He has also averaged 4.1 rebounds, 7.6 assists, and 1.0 steal per game prior to their hosting of the Mavs.
