Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons was involved in a couple of altercations during his team's loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday afternoon.

First, Simmons had some explicit words for Blazers big man Jusuf Nurkic after Nurkic had been talking some trash. Then, new Portland center Enes Kanter went after Simmons after the two got tangled up underneath the rim:

Gonna be honest here: Simmons didn't really do much of anything. It seemed like Kanter thought Simmons gave him a little extra shove, but Simmons didn't do that at all.

Unless Simmons said something to Kanter (and he didn't appear to), I don't see what Kanter was so upset about.

Kanter finished with 16 points, eight rebounds and four assists in the Blazers' 15-point road victory while Simmons posted 29 points, 10 assists and seven boards.

The 76ers were playing without Joel Embiid, who is out with knee soreness. As a result, Portland's frontcourt did a whole lot of damage. In addition to Kanter's stat line off the bench, Nurkic tallied 24 points, 10 rebounds and four dimes, and Jake Layman added eight points and 11 boards.

The Blazers improved to 36-23 with the win while the Sixers fell to 38-22.

Kanter arrived in Portland last week after getting waived by the New York Knicks. He has played two games for the Blazers since coming over, and in those two games, he has tallied 34 points and 17 boards.

The Blazers will remain on the road to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night while the 76ers will head away from Philly to battle the New Orleans Pelicans on the same evening.
