Atlanta Braves star outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. is still in the process of rehabbing from last year's torn ACL, something that made him a riskier selection in fantasy baseball drafts this spring. In any other year, Acuna Jr. would have been a surefire first round pick and the likely first overall selection in most drafts, though his uncertain status pushed him back into the second round in most formats. The Braves have said that the star slugger is targeting a return in the first week of May. On Thursday, it was announced that Acuna Jr., who is playing in simulated games, could possibly begin a rehab assignment next week. On Friday, footage of Acuna Jr. revealed a major development for the Braves and the star's fantasy baseball managers.

Acuna Jr. ripped an opposite field home run, a welcome sight for fantasy baseball managers. The Braves star did plenty of that this past season, as he clubbed 24 homers, scored 72 runs, drove in 52 and stole 17 bases in 82 games before sustaining the injury.

Now, the Braves star is clobbering homers in simulated games with a chance of embarking on a rehab assignment soon. There are many fantasy baseball managers who took advantage of Acuna Jr.'s fall down draft boards.

If he returns by May- or before that- and looks like the Acuna Jr. of past years, fantasy baseball managers will have themselves a surefire league-winner.
