Ronald Acuna Jr. is coming back… soon. MLB insider Ken Rosenthal reported on Saturday that the Braves are “loosely” targeting a return date of May 6th for the superstar outfielder. Acuna Jr. could also reportedly begin a rehab assignment as soon as Tuesday, per Rosenthal as well. That would provide him with at least 2 weeks of time to ramp up and prepare for his MLB 2022 debut. The two weeks would allow the Braves to start him off by playing about half of a game, before building him up to playing a full nine innings.

Ronald Acuna Jr. is working his way back from a devastating ACL injury which he suffered in July of last year. Despite losing arguably their best player at the time, the Braves still went on to win the World Series. The championship had to be bittersweet for Acuna Jr. On one hand, his team was World Series champions. On the other hand, he was unable to play in the Fall Classic.

Ronald Acuna Jr. is one of, if not, the best player in the MLB when healthy. He possesses a unique skillset with elite power and speed and quality defense as well. The 24-year old has yet to even enter his prime and is already regarded as a legitimate superstar. He has an opportunity to build a legendary career with the Braves if he can stay on the field.

For now, Braves fans can be excited that Ronald Acuna Jr. is on track and should be ready to roll in just a few weeks.
