Tom Thibodeau is making his return to the NBA, and it's coming with the young, up-and-coming Minnesota Timberwolves.

According to ESPN's Marc Stein, the T-Wolves are finalizing a five-year deal with Thibodeau worth $10 million per year as the franchise's head coach and president of basketball operations.

The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski confirmed the report as well, while adding that Spurs assistant GM Scott Layden is in talks to become the new general manager in Minnesota.

Yesterday, it was revealed that Thibs and the Wolves were close to striking a deal, depending on if their ownership was willing to give Tom total control as the head coach as well as president. Clearly, they came to the conclusion that doing so was in the best interests of the team going forward.

Out of all of the coaching opportunities out there, Minnesota intrigued Thibodeau above the rest, simultaneously allowing him to be in charge of personnel moves while shaping a culture around promising young talents like Karl-Anthony Towns, Andrew Wiggins, and Zach LaVine.

In Wojnarowski's report yesterday, he mentioned that Minnesota wouldn't wait too long to make a decision. It only ended up taking one more day.

The Timberwolves finished the season with a 29-53 record, an improvement on last season but still far from their ultimate goals. A victory in Golden State over the Warriors was a promising pre-cursor for things to come, hopefully.

Thibodeau might be the guy to bring it all together. He successfully molded the Chicago Bulls into one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference during his five-year tenure there, but he reportedly clashed with management over personnel moves throughout. In Minnesota, he won't have to worry about that.

There's a lot of pressure on Thibs to make this work. Many pundits have the T-Wolves competing for titles in the next four to five years. Now, it's time to sit back and see what Thibs can do with this golden opportunity.
