It looks like Chris Harris will be playing for the Denver Broncos in 2019 after all.

According to Mike Klis of 9 News and Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic, the Broncos are moving toward a short-term agreement with Harris that may include a pay raise for next season before he hits the free-agent market next offseason.

Talks between the Broncos and Harris are still ongoing. The cornerback is currently set to make $8.8 million in total in 2019.

Harris has been holding out for a new contract since last month, and things did not look too promising for him early on, as Broncos general manager John Elway said he was not worried about Harris at the time and said he would only address his contract after the draft.

Well, Elway held true to his word as far as talking to Harris after the draft, but for the moment, it does not look like Denver will be locking Harris up for the long haul.

The 29-year-old is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he played 12 games and registered 49 tackles, a sack, three interceptions, 10 passes defended, and a defensive touchdown en route to a Pro Bowl appearance.

Harris, who played his collegiate football at the University of Kansas, went undrafted but joined the Broncos in 2011. Since then, he has gone on to become a mainstay in Denver's secondary, making four Pro Bowl appearances while also earning a First-Team All-Pro selection. Additionally, Harris helped lead a dominant Broncos defense to a Super Bowl title during the 2015-16 campaign.
