The Denver Broncos did everything they could in the NFL Draft to supply young quarterback Drew Lock with more weapons, using their first couple of picks on wide receivers.

Not only that, but the Broncos also took Lock's University of Missouri teammate, tight end Albert Okwuegbunam, in the fourth round.

As expected, Lock is thrilled about Denver's moves:

“I kind of expected the receiver in the first round, but then when I’m watching that second round the next day, and it popped up that we drafted another one, I was like, ‘All right, we’re rolling now,'” Lock told NFL Network on Friday, via Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' team website. “We’ve got some stallions. We’re going to be pushing the ball down field a little bit. … And then when you get a teammate you played with in college [Okwuegbunam], that’s another plus. I'd say that Drew Lock probably won the NFL Draft this year.”

Lock was originally selected by the Broncos in the second round of last year's draft. A preseason thumb injury landed him on the injured reserve list, but he returned late in the season, making five starts and throwing for 1,020 yards, seven touchdowns and three interceptions while completing 64.1 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 89.7.

In addition, Denver went 4-1 in those games.

Now, Lock has incoming rookie receivers Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler to run alongside of 2019 breakout star Courtland Sutton. Plus, he has a pair of impressive young tight ends in Noah Fant and Okwuegbunam.

The Broncos still need some help along their offensive line, but they have certainly done a fine job of getting some weapons for Lock this offseason.
