Denver Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay had an incredible rookie season. Counted out by just about everybody and not heralded as a top prospect, Lindsay went undrafted.

The University of Colorado star had a lot of doubters, and critics didn't think he would transition well to the pro game. He had offers from a bunch of teams as an UDFA but ultimately decided to stay close to home in Denver. That decision paid off handsomely.

Lindsay impressed during training camp and the preseason and ended up earning a role right away. Initially splitting time with Royce Freeman at the beginning of the season, Lindsay soon began to pull away. It wasn't long before he established himself as a true featured back, and as one of the best running backs in the league.

Unfortunately, Lindsay suffered a wrist injury toward the end of the year that cut his breakout campaign short. Still, Lindsay made the Pro Bowl as an undrafted rookie and had an unbelievably successful year.

Now, Lindsay is looking to follow it up. As he continues to recover from his injury, he hasn't quite gotten back to full strength yet, but he's getting there. Speaking to reporters recently, Lindsay said “I feel ready,” per Kyle Fredrickson of The Denver Post.

Expectations are going to be much higher in 2019, and he won't catch anybody by surprise. Lindsay will also be playing with a new quarterback, as Joe Flacco takes over under center. Lindsay showed a lot of promise as a pass-catcher last year, so hopefully, he can develop a good connection with Flacco.

Lindsay's injury certainly wasn't devastating, and it shouldn't be anything that limits him moving forward. He should once again be one of the best running backs in the league in 2019.
