The Denver Broncos are currently on the outside looking in at the playoff picture sitting with a 5-6 record heading into Week 13 action against the Cincinnati Bengals.

This has put them in a tough position of essentially playing for their playoff hopes on a weekly basis over the final stretch of the season. With that in mind, head coach Vance Joseph has taken a stern approach by voicing that his team hasn't accomplished anything up to this point, according to Ryan O'Hallaran of The Denver Post.

“We’re 5-6; that’s it,” Joseph said Monday. “We’ve done nothing up to this point. If we don’t win Sunday (in Cincinnati), we’re 5-7 — that’s ugly.”

Denver has placed themselves in the spot of having to battle their way into the playoff picture hoping for things to work out in their favor. They are currently sitting a game out of the final Wild Card position while four teams lie ahead of them in the chase for that postseason berth. One of which is the Bengals, who they will have a chance to leap over if they can earn a win on the road Sunday afternoon.

The Broncos have shifted things in the right direction over the last couple of weeks, grabbing back-to-back wins with the latest seeing them beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 24-17. Denver has played quite well this season aside from what their record has shown, as they have suffered four close losses by a touchdown or fewer to the likes of the Kansas City Chiefs (twice), Los Angeles Rams, and Houston Texans.

That said, the Broncos may have their playoff fate in their own hands over the final games of the season with matchups against the Bengals, San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns, Oakland Raiders, and Los Angeles Chargers. Things may not have gone how they had envisioned up to this point, but Denver is still firmly in the mix to creep into the postseason.
