The Kansas City Chiefs had a phenomenal season, winning their first Super Bowl since 1970. They've also been extremely dominant in the AFC West winning four consecutive titles. However, Denver Broncos head coach Vic Fangio believes he has a strategy on how to beat the Chiefs.

Via of NBC Sports on the Broncos' coach:

“Well, right now as we stand here today — things change year to year — they’ve lost eight games in the last two years and in all of those games except one, the other team has scored 31 or more points, I believe. So that paints a little picture there for you. The other game they lost, the winning team [the Colts in 2019] only scored 19 points, but they want the ball 45 times in that game. So that was a different formula. So it’s got to be somewhere in between there. You’ve got to be able to slow them down somewhat, which to some degree we did a little bit. But obviously you’re going to have to score some points. That goes without saying.”

Apparently, Fangio believes that outscoring the Chiefs is the best way to beat them. Fangio will get at least two chances next season to see if his strategy will work for the Broncos against the Chiefs.

Nonetheless, the Chiefs offense was unstoppable last season. Their offense was third in the league in total yards per game (411.7). In addition, they were second in the league in passing yards per game (292.0). The Broncos know they have their work cut out for them.

It'll be interesting to see the matchups next season with the Broncos and the Chiefs.
