It was a disappointing 2017 NFL season for the Denver Broncos, to say the least. As a result, they could be looking to make some major changes this offseason on both sides of the ball.

Among the notable names that have landed on the potential chopping block is cornerback Aqib Talib. According to ESPN's Jeff Legwold, the Broncos could release Talib to shore up some cap space for the offseason:

Most of whom have made at least one Pro Bowl in their time with the team. When Denver's 5-11 season was finally over, cornerback Aqib Talib, wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders and running back C.J. Anderson were among the players who were uncertain about their futures. Talib, especially, with Bradley Roby in place to be a starter, is on particularly shaky ground. The Broncos would save $11 million against the salary cap if he were released.

The rumors surrounding Talib have come as a bit of a surprise considering he has been one of the best defensive backs in the NFL in recent years. He has now been selected to five straight Pro Bowls and is just one season removed from being named as a first-team All-Pro.

However, Denver has looming concerns they need to address in other areas of player personnel. The emergence of backup cornerback Bradley Roby has given them some wiggle room when it comes to the secondary.

It is no secret that the Broncos are in search of a new quarterback. With Kirk Cousins about to hit the market, they will need all the resources they can get to make a successful pitch should they ultimately decide to go that route.
