Throughout much of the offseason, the Cleveland Browns have been one of the more active teams in the league reshaping their roster on both sides of the ball. This has further emphasized their effort in turning the franchise around after a disappointing winless 2017 campaign.

The latest move has come on Wednesday morning with the front office trading tight end Randall Telfer to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for linebacker Dadi Nicolas, according to Field Yates of ESPN.

In his first couple of seasons in the league, Telfer has played in a backup role with the Browns since being selected in the sixth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. In the last two years, he has missed just two games in the regular season while hauling in five catches on 10 targets for 40 receiving yards. His addition to the Chiefs should provide more depth at the tight end position behind Pro Bowler Travis Kelce.

Meanwhile, the Browns are bringing aboard some more help at the linebacker spot with Nicolas with another young player. He had missed the entire 2017 campaign after rupturing his patellar tendon in Week 17 against the Los Angeles Chargers back in December 2016. He had played in 11 games with a pass deflection in that season prior to the injury.

There is no sense in terms of what kind of impact that Nicolas will provide the Browns, but it does bring aboard more depth to the roster at the linebacker position. He is still relatively young at 25 years old, which gives him time to develop into a dependable asset on the defensive side of the ball.

Nonetheless, it is another roster move by Cleveland that shows that the organization is looking to push on through to be a relevant team in the league that could possibly contend for a playoff spot in the 2018 season.
