David Njoku expected to have a break out year with the Cleveland Browns in 2019. But an injury prevented him from living up to the expectations that were given to him prior to the season.

Following an injury-riddled season, Njoku's No. 1 goal for 2020 is to remain healthy:

“My No. 1 goal is to stay healthy,” he said in a recent interview, via the team's official website. “If I can stay healthy, the sky is the limit. It's going to be special. We have all the tools here, and we have a great coach, so we're really excited to put it all together.”

Heading into the 2019 season, Njoku was projected to take a massive step forward in Cleveland's offense. The Browns had just acquired Odell Beckham Jr. and had Jarvis Landry as their No. 2 wide receiver.

Provided that, the Browns expected Njoku to have a ton of opportunities to shine in the passing attack. However, the former first-round pick would only play in four games after suffering a wrist injury that would land him on injured reserve.

Throughout those four games, Njoku only managed to record five receptions for 41 yards and a touchdown. And even when he returned from injured reserve, Njoku wasn't utilized much in the offense.

But now, with Kevin Stefanski at head coach and Alex Van Pelt as the offensive coordinator, Njoku's expectations for 2020 mirror the ones we saw for him in 2019.

If he can avoid the injury bug next season, Njoku believes he could thrive with the Browns, despite the team adding Austin Hooper and rookie Harrison Bryant.
