Former Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson echoed former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores' accusations of Miami's franchise when he accused Cleveland owner Jimmy Haslam of paying him to tank and lose games on purpose. Amid the Flores lawsuit, Haslam fired back at Jackson with a scathing response, via Adam Sparks of the Knoxville News Sentinel.

“Hue Jackson has never ever accepted any responsibility for our record during that time period,” Haslam said in an exclusive interview. “He’s been masterful at pointing fingers but has never accepted any blame. I have accepted a ton of blame, and rightfully so.

Not only did Browns owner Jimmy Haslam completely deny any possibility that he paid Hue Jackson to tank, but he also hit the former Cleveland head coach where it hurts, saying that he has “never ever accepted any responsibility” for the team's losing record.

Haslam said that Jackson, who had insinuated that the Browns owner had offered him a lucrative amount of money to tank much like what Brian Flores was offered, has been a master of “pointing fingers.”

Jackson feels that he was treated unfairly during his time in Cleveland while Haslam feels that the former Browns head coach is basically using these allegations as an excuse for his past failures.

The Browns may be well past the Hue Jackson era but there is a good deal of animosity that remains, as clearly seen in owner Jimmy Haslam's comments.
