The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have made some significant changes this offseason. One thing they hope to maintain is wide receiver DeSean Jackson's status on the team.

There has been plenty of speculation regarding Jackson's future with the team. According to TMZ Sports, he gave little indication regarding whether or not he wants to be back:

Jackson told TMZ that he has yet to speak to Arians and said “we’ll see” when asked if there was a way for things to work out with the Buccaneers.

“That’s what I got an agent for, bro,” Jackson said. “I don’t know, I just go play. That’s all I worry about.

These are not the most encouraging comments from Jackson. Then again, they are hardly surprising given his disappointment with how the 2018 NFL season played out. It appears he may still be weighing out his potential options this offseason.

It is no secret that Jackson had a rough time etching out a consistent role this season. He voiced his displeasure with his lack of involvement throughout the season, however, the state of the offense made it difficult for him to see any improvement. As a result, he finished the year with 41 receptions for 774 yards and four touchdowns in 12 games.

Despite the tumultuous year, there is good reason to believe Jackson will be back. New head coach Bruce Arians has expressed his desire to keep the speedster around and he tries to revamp the offense under quarterback Jameis Winston. Since Jackson is under contract for the 2019 NFL season, it will be interesting to see if Arians can convince him staying in Tampa Bay would be the best option.
