The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were left with a massive crater at the quarterback position after the news that legendary quarterback Tom Brady had retired. There's no replacing a player like Brady, who is undoubtedly the best quarterback to ever step onto a football field. However, the Buccaneers' front office is doing their due diligence on signal-callers and the team in place is a solid one, despite the large number of impending free agents up and down the roster. Buccaneers star linebacker Shaq Barrett thinks the team will be just fine. In fact, Barrett made a bold declaration about the Buccaneers' future without Tom Brady, via NBC Sports.

“We most definitely are still going to be contenders,” Barrett said, via the team’s website. “We’ve still got a lot of guys on the team who are hungry to have a taste of being in the playoffs, to have a taste of winning a Super Bowl. And I know the front office guys, they loved having a taste of the success that we had.”

Shaq Barrett thinks that the Buccaneers are “most definitely” sill going to be contenders without Tom Brady. Of course, Barrett is going to show confidence in his team's abilities no matter what.

But Tampa Bay fans have to love his swagger, even as the franchise is set to lose the steady hand of Brady under center. The only two other quarterbacks on the active roster right now are Blaine Gabbert, who is 13-35 as an NFL starter, and Kyle Trask, who has yet to even attempt an NFL pass.

Shaq Barrett is absolutely right though. The success that the Buccaneers enjoyed with Tom Brady at the helm only makes them want more.

That's why he isn't worried about the future without the GOAT.
