Expectations are higher than ever for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers heading into the 2020 NFL season thanks to the arrival of quarterback Tom Brady. Fortunately, it appears he is not the only one feeling a sense of urgency at this point in his career.

Head coach Bruce Arians came out of retirement last year for presumably one more stint in the NFL. According to ESPN's Jenna Laine, general manager Jason Licht feels it is an ideal partnership between Arians and Brady:

“I don't have a lot of concerns on that right now,” Licht said, per ESPN.com. “We have a head coach that, to be quite frank, isn't gonna be here for the next 15, 20 years coaching the Buccaneers. So I think it was actually a perfect marriage: You've got two guys that have got something to prove; they want to win, they want to win now; they've got the same mindset.”

There is certainly plenty of truth to Licht's comments given what has drawn both players to potentially finish out their careers in Tampa Bay. The fact that both veterans seem to already be on the same page should help pay huge dividends leading up to the 2020 campaign.

Licht has essentially put the team's future plans on the backburner in exchange for the possibility of massive short-term success. Although this approach comes with its fair share of risks, any situation that involves the paring of a six-time Super Bowl champ in Brady and a proven veteran coach in Arians can be considered a rather safe bet.

Of course, only time will tell whether or not the Bucs' immediate investment will pay off.
