The free-agent market is adding another superstar into the mix with the Los Angeles Rams releasing Todd Gurley on Thursday, and he may have hinted at where he'd want to play years ago. Following his release, an old tweet of Gurley's surfaced of him cheering for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

While the tweet was nine years ago and likely had nothing to do with his fandom, it's ironic that the Buccaneers are one of the ideal landing spots for Gurley in free agency. With Tom Brady choosing to head to Tampa Bay, the Buccaneers have become a preferred destination for free agents.

Also, the Buccaneers make sense for Gurley due to the inconsistency that Ronald Jones has shown in his first two seasons. Above all, Tampa Bay has enough money to pay Gurley a reasonable amount of money to join their offense.

Despite being released, Gurley is still 25 years old and is eager to prove he can still produce in the NFL. Just two seasons ago, Gurley was running rampant, totaling 1,831 yards from scrimmage and 21 touchdowns.

However, a mysterious knee injury caused his usage with the Rams to take a noticeable decline in 2019. As a result, Gurley finished with a career-low 857 rushing yards, and he grew tireless of answering questions pertaining to his knee.

In the event that the Buccaneers are going all-in for a Super Bowl, they'd be wise to consider signing the All-Pro running back. Even though it's uncertain who his favorite team is, he's shown a liking to the idea of playing alongside Brady.
