While much talk continues to surround the NBA regarding its decision to resume, there is one other key storyline worth monitoring: the future of the Milwaukee Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The reigning MVP will be a free agent next summer. The question continues to persist, will Antetokounmpo return to the Bucks or will he leave for a bigger market?

Teams such as the Miami Heat and the Golden State Warriors have been rumored to be in the running for the 25-year-old “Greek Freak.” While both teams are certainly ready to add one of the best players in the league, it'll ultimately be Giannis' decision as to which NBA team he'll play for during the 2021-2022 season.

According to league insiders, there are a couple of things that will dictate the Bucks superstar's future. One of them will be the success of Milwaukee's future. The other thing will be timing.

Via Tim Bontemps of ESPN:

Milwaukee is still considered likely to keep Antetokounmpo long term, but insiders cited the potential of the salary cap dropping both this offseason and in future years as a reason Giannis might take a wait-and-see approach. Still, the overriding belief is that whatever happens on the court will play the biggest role in his decision.

“I always have said: Ask me once he has to make a decision,” one Eastern Conference scout said. “It all comes down to timing. So many things can change.

“If they win it all, if they come through this and do that? There's no way he's leaving.”

With the NBA season due to resume by the end of July, the Bucks have accumulated a 53-12 record — the league's best record. However, Milwaukee also had the NBA's best record last season — and they finished just short of their goal of winning an NBA title when they lost in the Eastern Conference Finals.

If the Bucks do falter again this season — and let's say they fall short yet again next summer — maybe this motivates Antetokounmpo to jump elsewhere for a better chance to win a title.

Only time will tell regarding the “Greek Freak's” NBA's future.
