The Milwaukee Bucks have officially re-signed veteran point guard George Hill.

The Bucks acquired Hill from the Cleveland Cavaliers this past season. Milwaukee general manager Jon Horst says the franchise is “thrilled” to have Hill back.

“George is a consummate pro and an important part of our team,” Horst said in their official release on NBA.com. “His veteran leadership and steady guard play were instrumental to our success last season, both during the regular season and the playoffs. We are thrilled to have him back with the Bucks.”

The Bucks lost to the Toronto Raptors in the 2019 Eastern Conference Finals in six games. With Kawhi Leonard leaving for the Los Angeles Clippers, though, Milwaukee has a great shot at winning the East in 2019-20.

Malcolm Brogdon is the only player the Bucks lost in free agency. Milwaukee re-signed Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez and signed Brook's brother, Robin Lopez.

In 47 regular season games with Milwaukee in 2019-20, George Hill averaged 6.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists while shooting 42.8 percent from the field. In the 2019 postseason, Hill put up 11.5 points per contest.

The Bucks waived Hill and then re-signed him to a new deal worth $29 million. Hill will once again back up Eric Bledsoe at the point guard spot.
