The Milwaukee Bucks have signed undrafted forward Luke Maye to an Exhibit 10 deal, according to Keith Smith of Yahoo Sports.

An Exhibit 10 contract is a one-year deal worth the minimum salary. It doesn't come with compensation protection, but it includes an optional bonus ranging from $5,000 to $50,000. It also guarantees that a player will receive a training camp invite.

In the event that a player under an Exhibit 10 contract is waived, then the player will be offered $50,000 to sign with the G League affiliate of the team who waived him. Provided he stays on the roster for 60 days, he will acquire the $50,000 bonus.

The Exhibit 10 contract was created to incentivize players to stay in the G League than go somewhere else. A team can’t carry more than six Exhibit 10 contracts at a time. Furthermore, the contract can only be converted to a two-way deal before the regular season begins.

Maye, who stands 6-foot-8, spent four years in North Carolina. During his stint, he was crowned NCAA champion in 2017, was named into first-team All-ACC in 2018, second-team All-ACC (2019), ACC Most Improved Player (2018), and second-team Academic All-American (2018, 2019), among others.

Perhaps his best season came in his junior year where he averaged 16.9 points, 10.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.0 block and 1.0 steal across 32.2 minutes in 37 games.

Maye struggled in the Summer League with the Bucks, averaging just three points per contest on 18.8 percent shooting. He is expected to spend time with Milwaukee's G League squad, the Wisconsin Herd.
