Dwyane Wade joined the Chicago Bulls last year to pair up with Jimmy Butler and possibly contend in the Eastern Conference. However, with the Bulls trading Butler this offseason, it's clear the team is rebuilding and far from making a run to the playoffs.

Now, Wade's future remains in doubt, and as rumors circulate he can be bought out by the team, there's a strong belief in the league that he's heading out of Windy City to join a franchise where he has the biggest chance of winning the title in the twilight of his career.

The Bulls' executive vice president of basketball operations John Paxson, nonetheless, addressed the rumors surrounding Wade and admitted to CSN's Mark Schanowski that nothing is set in stone as they are yet to talk with the 12-time All-Star.

“We can't do anything about it,” Paxson said of the rumors. “To be very honest, me and (general manager) Gar (Forman) sat down with Dwyane when the season ended. We were honest with him. We told him, ‘We don't know what's going to happen.' At that time we were not shopping Jimmy. But we said all along that if a deal would come along that would allow us to rebuild, we'd have to look at it. We've said that to everybody. With that said, Dwyane's under contract. He has been a professional through and through. We want to talk to him when he comes into town, and we will. Until then, I read the same things you do. But Gar and I will sit down with Dwyane when he comes to town.”

It was recently reported that Wade hasn't spoken to Bulls' management in two months, and following Paxson's latest admission, it might really be the reason why discussions between the two parties haven't progressed yet.

However, with training camp just around the corner, Wade's future might just be settled soon.
