A little over a month into his first season with the Chicago Bulls, Lonzo Ball is enjoying an unusual level of success while thriving as the team's lead guard. As of writing, the Bulls hold a 13-7 record, which is good for second place in the Eastern Conference.

Ball's road to Chicago is quite interesting. The expectations differed on each team he's played for since 2017. He's now tasked to orchestrate for a conference powerhouse. Prior to this season, Ball was tagged as a future piece for the New Orleans Pelicans. His stint with the Los Angeles Lakers was a different monster, though.

In an interview with Jackson Frank for Dime Magazine, Ball recalled the pressure he had to live up to in Tinseltown.

“This is my third team in five years and every team’s been a different experience for myself. Obviously, coming to L.A., I was a young kid with a lot of expectations put on me that I didn’t really live up to.”

Lonzo Ball entered the league as the Lakers' second overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. He came in as a tall and dynamic guard whose playmaking reminded everyone of Jason Kidd and Magic Johnson. Of course, the Los Angeles hype train was quick to capitalize on these observations.

Unfortunately, the former UCLA standout was highly criticized for his inconsistent shooting at the time. The Lakers shipped him to New Orleans in the Anthony Davis package. Now, armed with a vastly-improved 44% clip from long distance, Lonzo Ball appears to be a long-term fixture in Chicago.
