Chicago Bulls superstar Zach LaVine suffered an ankle injury against the Golden State Warriors on Monday and he could miss some time. Following the Bulls' loss to Golden State, head coach Billy Donovan didn't have any positive things to say about LaVine's ankle ailment, via The Athletic's Darnell Mayberry.

The All-Star guard iterated that he reaggravated an ankle injury that he sustained on March 24 versus the Cleveland Cavaliers. LaVine has yet to miss a game this season for the Bulls, but he carries a questionable tag into Wednesday's contest with the Phoenix Suns.

With Donovan's comments on LaVine's injury situation, it would be a surprise to see LaVine on the court on Wednesday. Besides Wednesday's game, there's a chance that LaVine misses a few games until his ankle injury is able to recover.

Through Chicago's first 45 games of the season, LaVine is amid a career year where he's recording a career-best 27.5 points, 5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game. The former first-round pick out of UCLA was named to his first All-Star Game this season due to his improved play on the court.

The Bulls can ill afford to have LaVine miss an extended period of time with Chicago focused on getting to the playoffs. Given their loss on Monday against the Warriors, the Bulls are now 19-26, which puts them at the 10th seed in the Eastern Conference.

If LaVine is forced to miss any time, Nikola Vucevic may be relied on even more to help the Bulls get out of their recent rut.
