The wind just got a bit chillier in Windy City as Zach LaVine could potentially miss some time after reaggravating his ankle injury on Monday night against the Golden State Warriors. The Chicago Bulls All-Star still managed to log in 32 minutes but only finished with 12 points on 4-of-16 shooting en route to a 116-102 loss on the road.

When asked about taking rest days in the coming weeks, LaVine had a rather disappointed tone (via Rob Shaefer of NBCS Chicago).

“It's a decision I'm going to have to make coming up. It just sucks.”

This ankle issue has been a recurring one for LaVine as he's been forced to sit out games in the past. This season, the high-scoring guard has been relatively healthy as he's been able to suit up in the Bulls' first 45 games. With the injury update, all signs are pointing that LaVine might be on his way to the sidelines for at least a couple of outings.

It's the worst possible time for the Bulls to lose their leader. Their postseason hunt will be taking a huge bump if LaVine ends up missing time. His absence is something that even the addition of All-Star center Nikola Vucevic might not be able to solely address.

The Bulls have fallen to the 10th spot in the Eastern Conference with less than 30 games remaining. If they'll be without Zach LaVine for the coming weeks, the rest of the team might have to step up big time if they want to book a trip to the NBA Playoffs for the first time in four seasons.
