Kemba Walker to the Chicago Bulls?

Back in mid-June, the Boston Celtics surprisingly pulled off a trade involving Kemba Walker along with a 2021 first-round pick and a 2023 second-round pick in exchange for Al Horford, Moses Brown, and a 2025 second-round pick from the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Though Walker has found a new home after two years of staying in Boston, it is believed that he will be traded once again before the 2021-22 season starts. Amid the many trade rumors swirling around, the Chicago Bulls could emerge as a potential destination for the four-time All-Star in the near future.

Here is a trade that could work and go down between the two teams:

Bulls trade Coby White, Tomas Satoransky, and Al-Farouq Aminu for Walker

In order to get Walker, Chicago will have to free up the point guard spot by trading Coby White who tallied career-best numbers of 15.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.8 assists in 69 appearances for the Bulls in the 2020-21 season. Shipping him away to the Thunder will definitely allow him to develop more as he will be paired with another promising guard in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Additionally, White's ball-dominant playing style should work in Oklahoma City as he could serve as one of the team's main focal points on offense moving forward.

The Bulls will also have to unload a couple of serviceable veterans in Tomas Satoransky and Al-Farouq Aminu who could serve as mentors for a Thunder team that is filled with young talents. At the same time, general manager Sam Presti can also flip them to acquire more draft picks and further reload their rebuilding efforts for the future.

On the other hand, Chicago will be welcoming Walker who has fairly struggled in recent memory. He continued to nurse his knee injury last season which caused him to lose momentum all throughout their campaign as he averaged 19.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 4.9 assists in 43 games played.

While he was away, the spotlight in Boston was turned to Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown who both bagged All-Star appearances in the 2020-21 season. Definitely so, it was evident that the Celtics could thrive even without Walker which ultimately led to their decision to trade him and acquire other assets instead.

After encountering his recent struggles, Walker definitely needed a change in environment in order to jumpstart his career once more. Now playing at the age of 31, he would need to join a team with established stars in order to give himself a good chance of making it far into the playoffs.

With this, the Bulls pose so much intrigue for Walker since he can form a deadly trio with two other All-Stars in Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic. At the same time, Chicago is also in dire need of a steady orchestrator who could set up its offense on the floor. Walker's arrival to the team will definitely give them a much-needed upgrade at the point guard position, given his elite playmaking skills and veteran experience.

As a well-respected individual around the league, he would also bring significant buzz to a team like the Bulls that have already lost its luster in recent years due to consecutive losing seasons. As a player who has amassed multiple All-Star appearances, Walker's talent isn't really in question anymore. However, it is his ability to remain healthy that could ultimately determine the level of success that he can achieve in the league for the remainder of his career.

The Thunder have yet to aggressively shop Kemba Walker but the Bulls do have the pieces to offer a viable trade package that they could use to acquire star guard and potentially get back to their winning ways in the near future.
