It has been just over a year since Bryon Scott has held a head coach gig in the NBA with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Despite not being far removed from the position, Scott recently shot down any notion that he wants to return to the sidelines one day, according to TMZ.

“No. I have had enough of it. I'm enjoying the retired life and working at ESPN. I love that and I will continue to do that.”

In his last stint as an NBA head coach, he struggled to lead the Lakers to any type of success as he spent two seasons with the team garnering just 38 wins while finishing with 60-plus losses in back-to-back seasons for the first time in team history. This also includes a franchise-worst 17-65 record in the 2015-16 campaign.

During that time, Scott struggled to adjust to the playing style of the modern NBA. The hard-nosed coaching style had run its course in the league while the greater importance on the 3-point shot wasn't something that he wanted to acclimate himself to his preferred offensive game.

In fact, this may have led to there being less interest in him in a head coach capacity around the league. That said, Scott does have a proven resume having helped lead the then-New Jersey Nets to back-to-back NBA Finals appearances.

The 56-year-old wants to enjoy his post-NBA career life that allows him to work at his own schedule while reaping the fruits of labor over the years in the league.
