The city of Las Vegas announced a big move in support of A'ja Wilson and the two-time defending WNBA Champion Las Vegas Aces. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, the tourism branch of the city, announced on Friday that it will sponsor every player on the Aces' roster with $100,000 each, with the sole requirement being their ongoing participation in basketball. The news was posted on the Las Vegas social media accounts.

In the video, LVCVA president and CEO Steve Hill announced the partnership and surprised the team in the locker room.

“Today we want to do something that is new, something I don't think anybody has ever done before,” Hill said to the Aces players in the video. “We want to recognize you individually, we want to put some money in your pockets. We've got an offer for you. We think it's a great offer for us. We hope you think it's a great offer for you. We'd like to offer each of you, individually, a sponsorship for this year in the amount of $100,000. The offer's really simple. We want you to just play. We want you to keep repping Las Vegas, and if you do a three-peat, that will be icing on the cake. That's it.”

The Las Vegas Aces players were excited for the sponsorship, as seen in the video. A'ja Wilson took to her social media to further explain her excitement, posting on her X profile, “Me when they told me we were getting 100k lmaooo” with a video of her dancing.

Other Aces players also showed their gratitude to Las Vegas.

“Las Vegas is setting the standard. Grateful to be a part of a city that continues to show up and show out for us. Honored to be able to represent it! Thank you @Vegas” posted Chelsea Gray.

“This city and this organization are the standard!! I am grateful to represent both every day! We are SO appreciative of their desire to invest in us 🙏🏽 Thank you @Vegas!” posted Alysha Clark.

Dawn Staley, South Carolina's national championship-winning coach, even chimed in, saying, “Damn yall getting 6 figure NIL team deals?! Sir do you all have any leftovers we rep LV too?!! Aayyyeee @_ajawilson22 can you donate that pocket change to us over?!”

The Las Vegas Aces play the Los Angeles Sparks this afternoon at 3 PM EST. The game will be broadcast on ABC.
