Per Bob McManaman of the Arizona Republic, the Cardinals will be bringing in Tom Clements as their passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

Clements had been a long-time member of the Green Bay Packers offensive coaching staff. From 2006-2016 Clements spent time as the quarterback's coach was promoted to offensive coordinator and then to assistant head coach. He was let go after the 2016 season and hasn't held an NFL coaching position since.

Clement began his career as the quarterback's coach for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He then joined the Saints, Chiefs, and Steelers from 1997-2003 as their quarterback's coach. He finally got his shot to be an offensive coordinator with the Buffalo Bills for two years in 2004 and 2005, was let go and then rehired by the Packers.

He's worked under Bill Cowher, Gunther Cunningham, Mike Ditka and then Mike McCarthy. He will bring veteran experience to the team under the new head coach hiring, Kliff Kingsbury.

Kingsbury was the head coach at Texas Tech for six years and finished his tenure there with a 35-40 total record. They reached three bowl games in his time in Texas and won only one. He was considered an offensive mastermind and was recently hired to be USC's quarterback coach.

Last season the Cardinals went 3-13 under head coach Steve Wilks. They were one of the worst teams in the NFL. Wilks’ offense only averaged 14.1 points per game, which ranked last in the NFL. They also allowed 25.6 points per game, which ranked 26th overall in the entire league.

The new era under Kingsbury and Clemens should allow for a more modernized offensive attack with their young quarterback Josh Rosen.
