The first few months of the 2022 NFL offseason was a horrible time to be an Arizona Cardinals fan. As more and more teams added talent to their roster, the Cards were in danger of LOSING their star. Kyler Murray's Instagram scrub sparked speculation about his impending contract extension. Will the QB not play for the team in 2022?

Thankfully, both Kyler Murray and the Cardinals front office seem to have mended their relationship. The initial drama about the team has died down. Even better for Cards fans: all the news about Murray has been positive so far. The latest report says that both sides are expected to reach a positive conclusion before the start of training camp. Murray's first few seasons with the Cardinals is a mixed bag of results. On one hand, the team has started off strong for three years straight, often fighting for a spot on top of the NFC. However… they have also consistently flopped as the season ends, eventually leading to a first-round disappointment every season.

Last season, the Cardinals did have a legitimate reason for their patented late-season collapse. DeAndre Hopkins' injury seemingly set the team back after their incredible 7-0 start to the season. However, that does not excuse Kyler Murray and the team's absolutely terrible performance in the NFC Wild Card round.

We'll see if his fourth season brings a better sense of stability for Murray and the Cardinals organization. If they fail once again in spectacular fashion… expect some changes to be made, whether it's with the coaching staff or the roster.
