The Arizona Cardinals' top two biggest voids to fill heading into this offseason were at head coach and quarterback. Fortunately, they have managed to find their head coach in former Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Steve Wilks.

Now they must turn their attention to acquiring their next franchise quarterback. According to ESPN's Josh Weinfuss, Wilks acknowledged the fact that Arizona still has a large question mark under center:

“There's a question mark right now, we all know,” Wilks said. “It's the elephant in the room. We don't have a quarterback.”

He added that the team will be relentless in its search for their next franchise quarterback.

“We're going to have a very active and aggressive plan through free agency, and we'll see exactly what's going to happen within the draft,” Wilks said. “But we're going to put a quality team on the field that's going to give us an opportunity to win each and every week.”

While there are a number of teams looking to upgrade at the quarterback position this offseason, the Cardinals' search for a signal caller could have a huge impact on the team's personnel for next season. Star wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald was notably upset with the retirement of both former head coach Bruce Arians and quarterback Carson Palmer.

As a result, he is taking a wait-and-see approach to whether or not the Cardinals can assemble a team capable of competing for a championship next year. However, before Wilks can find his next quarterback, he will first need to hire an offensive coordinator to assist with the search.
