Free agent wide receiver Kendall Wright is still in search for a new NFL home and the Arizona Cardinals are the latest to show some interest in him, as the team has recently worked out the former first-round pick, according to John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM.

Before getting an audition with the Cardinals, Wright also had workouts with the New England Patriots earlier this month and with the Washington Redskins. Washington recently added Breshad Perriman and Michael Floyd and signed both wide receivers, while Wright was obviously not offered a contract.

The Cardinals are simply looking to see what kind of weapons are out there in the market that could help them shore up their offense. The Cards have yet to score a touchdown through the first two games of this season and have been outscored by their opponents, 58-6.

They lost to the Los Angeles Rams last Sunday, 34-0, with quarterback Sam Bradford throwing for only 90 yards. Arizona is last in the NFL in scoring offense, total offense, and passing yards. The team’s rushing game is ranked second worst.

Further underscoring the Cardinals’ need to boost the team’s receiving corps is the fact that only two Arizona wideouts have recorded at least a reception this year: ageless wonder Larry Fitzgerald and rookie Christian Kirk.

Kendall Wright, who was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in 2012, has 3,858 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns on 339 receptions so far in his NFL career. He played his first five NFL seasons with the Titans and spent last year with the Chicago Bears. He led the Bears with 59 catches for 614 yards. He also had a short stint with the Minnesota Vikings in the offseason.
