Kyler Murray, the Arizona Cardinals' No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, has yet to have a locker assigned to him in training camp. It may seem unusual that the player who earned the honors of being drafted first overall doesn't have a permanent locker in his team's main locker room, but apparently head coach Kliff Kingsbury has an explanation, per Bob McManaman of The Arizona Republic.

It's not shocking that Kingsbury wants to manage expectations with a highly-touted rookie from the onset of their relationship, but he tempered his high demands with faith in Murray's ability by saying that “he's going to do that.”

Murray has been proving himself since his college days. After earning a number of accolades last season including winning the Heisman Trophy, the highest honor in college football, he'll have to show yet again he's worthy of the hype surrounding him.

In the 2018 season, his second year at the University of Oklahoma and his third year of NCAA eligibility, Murray passed for over 4,000 yards and had a 69 pass completion percentage. He also rushed for over 1,000 yards in the same season, averaging 7.2 yards per attempt.

Murray will be playing under Kingsbury for the foreseeable future. Hopefully, he'll rise to the occasion and earn the trust of his head coach along with the starting spot at quarterback.

Murray previously played one season of NCAA football at Texas A&M in the SEC before playing at Oklahoma for two. He was drafted first overall in the 2019 NFL draft and is the 2018 Heisman Trophy winner.
