Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals have finally come to terms on a new deal.

Murray, who is now one of the highest-paid players in the NFL, received congratulations from people all around the football world.

One notable person to reach out to Murray is his former Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley

Riley tweeted at Murray saying, “So proud of  @K1. Anyone that knows him knows this isn’t why he does it. From conversations about even getting a shot to play in the NFL to today…couldn’t be happier for him and his family.”

Murray spent one season playing under Riley while at Oklahoma. In their lone season together, Murray became one of college football's best quarterbacks. Not long after, he also became the first overall pick in the 2018 draft.

Since joining the Cardinals in 2018, Murray has been one of the NFL’s most intriguing players. Between his big-time throws and overall personality, Murray has also become a fan favorite.

Through 46 career starts, Murray has a record of 22-23-1. He has racked up 11,480 passing yards and 70 passing touchdowns. On the ground, he has also been a legitimate threat. He has rushed for 20 touchdowns and 1,786 yards.

With his recent contract extension, Murray will be under contract until 2028. The extension is for 5 years and $230.5 million. Murray will now make $46.1 million per season, the second most in the NFL. He will also take home $160 million in guaranteed.

With the Cardinals locking him in for the foreseeable future, expectations will be high in Arizona. Just weeks away from turning 25 years old, Murray has the keys to the castle in Arizona. With the recent addition of Marquise Brown, this offense could reach new levels.
