Boston Celtics forward Gordon Hayward has been working on his parenting skills in the midst of the current coronavirus pandemic. Forced to stay at home like the rest of us, the 30-year-old has seen this lockdown as an opportunity to bond with his family, and also pass on some important life skills to his children.

One of the most significant things the Celtics wing is teaching his kids is, of course, gaming. Hayward is a known aficionado of all things gaming, and as it turns out, he is already passing on the gene to his offspring as early as now. The 6-foot-7 swingman has started off his kids with some Pokemon and Mario Kart action, as reported by Zach Lowe of ESPN.

It's great to hear that NBA players are able to spend some much needed time with their families in the wake of the league-mandated season suspension. The silver lining in the tragedy we are all living in today is the fact that we are all given the precious chance to bond and reconnect with our families at home. We have no choice, really.

For Hayward, the current situation has also given him a new perspective on the challenges faced by moms who take care of their kids all day long.

“You gain a whole new respect for stay-at-home moms, nannies and teachers,” said Hayward.

Hayward has three daughters with wife Robyn, and they do appear to be quite a handful.
