Jayson Tatum knows exactly what's on the line for the Boston Celtics as they head home to host the Miami Heat in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The C's are now just one win away from booking their place in the NBA Finals but at this point, Tatum has no intention of taking his foot off the gas.

The Celtics superstar looked back at their second-round series against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks as he revealed his mindset for Friday's Game 6 bout against the Heat. Tatum was quick to remind everyone about how Boston won in Milwaukee in Game 6 — a feat that the Heat could replicate on Friday in the TD Garden:

“Don’t look past them. Don’t believe what you guys say on TV, that we’re going to the championship, because this is far from over,” said Tatum, via Mark Murphy of the Sun Herald. “We talked about it. We just went into Milwaukee and won a very big Game 6. So, know that it’s possible. Like we came with the mindset tonight that it was a must-win game, that we need to carry that over, go into Friday like we down 3-2.”

Tatum has been in this situation before and he knows all too well that this is anything but a foregone conclusion. The All-Star forward sent out a stern reminder to his Celtics teammates ahead of the most important game of their season thus far:

“My rookie year, being up 3-2, you know, obviously different team now. I’m a lot better, (Jaylen Brown) is. We’re just older,” said Tatum. “And we’ve been through those tough times. But, you know, the mindset and the talk that we had after the game was, we was down 3-2 (in the last round against Milwaukee), had to go on the road and win a Game 6, and we did.”
