Retired NBA player Kendrick Perkins believes that the Boston Celtics got a decent player in the 2019 NBA Draft. The Celtics used their 20th pick on Thursday's draft to select Grant Williams. Fans were surprised by the selection, but Perkins is convinced that Boston acquired an excellent player. The former Celtics center said that Williams' skillset is similar to Golden State Warriors superstar Draymond Green.

Green is often tagged as the fuel that runs the powerhouse Warriors squad over the past several years because of his toughness and do-it-all mentality. Perkins said that he saw the same qualities on Williams when he coached the former Tennessee standout during the pre-draft combine.

“He does it all,” Perkins said of Williams on The Jump via NBC Sports. “His shot has gotten better; he scores. He’s got a nice mid-range, he finishes around the rim, he’s very athletic. And he’s an under-rated shot blocker. He reminds me of a poor man’s Draymond Green.”

The 20-year-old rookie played three seasons with Tennessee, where he averaged 15.7 points and 6.5 rebounds on top of 2.1 assists and 1.5 blocks per game. In his final year with the Volunteers, the 6-foot-7 forward posted 18.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.5 blocks in 31.9 minutes per game.
