Now that the Boston Celtics are heading to the NBA Finals, Marcus Smart won't settle for anything less than the Larry O'Brien trophy.

While Smart understands it will be a difficult battle against a well-experienced team like the Golden State Warriors, he is not giving up before things even started. They beat the Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks and Miami Heat to secure their spot in the NBA Finals, and sure enough, they won't take the chance they got for granted.

“I’ve gone from a naive southern kid to a championship starved Bostonian. I won't settle for anything less than Banner 18,” Smart boldly declared.

The Celtics are considered the underdogs heading into Game 1 on Thursday, but Marcus Smart has every right to be confident about their chances.

They have played really well against the Warriors over the years. In fact since Steve Kerr took over the Dubs, the Celtics had the best record against them at 9-7. Moreover, Stephen Curry doesn't have a good history playing with the Beantown franchise, going 11-11 in all games he played against them.

Of course the Warriors are a different team this postseason, especially with a healthier lineup at their disposal. However, Golden State certainly cannot underestimate Boston and what they have done so far to reach the biggest stage of all.

Clearly, Smart, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and the rest of the Celtics are hungrier than ever to break their championship drought.
